These terms are the agreement between you and us when you use ChaosInOurMind. We have tried to keep them short and clear. Nothing here takes away rights you have as a consumer under the law of your country.

ChaosInOurMind is run by [COMPANY NAME], [REGISTERED ADDRESS], [COUNTRY], company registration number [COMPANY REGISTRATION NUMBER], VAT number [VAT / TAX NUMBER]. We are a two-person indie game studio. You can contact us at hello@chaosinourmind.com or, for legal matters, legal@chaosinourmind.com. Full details are in the imprint.
ChaosInOurMind is a website at https://chaosinourmind.com where you can play free pixel-art browser games. Games run in your browser inside a frame on our pages. The site is designed for desktop computers; some games may not work well on phones or tablets. Playing is free and financed by ads. You can play without an account. With an account you can keep your saves in the cloud, buy Supporter status and submit your own games.
By using the site you accept these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the service.
How we handle your data is explained in the privacy policy.
Please play fair. You must not:
Using a normal ad blocker is your choice. We just ask that you consider Supporter status if you want an ad-free site and want to support us.
Many of our games are small and some are still in development. That means games may change, get rebalanced, be paused or disappear. In early builds we may need to reset save data when the save format changes. We will try to warn you, but we cannot promise that every game or save is kept forever.
We aim to keep the site running smoothly, but it may sometimes be unavailable because of maintenance, updates or problems outside our control. Saves made while logged out live only in your browser. If you clear your browser data or switch devices, they are lost.
Supporter status is a one-time payment of €10, VAT included. It removes ads across the whole site, on every device where you are logged in, for as long as the service runs. It is not a subscription. Nothing renews and nothing is charged again. It is linked to your account and cannot be transferred.
Payments are processed by Stripe through Stripe Checkout. Your card details go directly to Stripe and are never seen by us. The contract for Supporter status is concluded when the payment is confirmed. You will receive a confirmation by email. [PLACEHOLDER: if a Merchant of Record such as Paddle is used, state here that the Merchant of Record is the seller and its own terms apply to the purchase.]
Normally, consumers in the EU have 14 days to withdraw from an online purchase. Supporter status is digital content that we provide immediately. Before you pay, we ask you to expressly agree that we start right away and to confirm that you know you lose your right of withdrawal once access begins (Article 16(m) of Directive 2011/83/EU). We record the time you gave this consent and include it in your confirmation email. If you do not give this consent, you cannot complete the purchase.
This does not affect your other legal rights. If Supporter status does not work as described, for example ads are still shown while you are logged in, tell us and we will fix it. If we cannot fix it within a reasonable time, you are entitled to a price reduction or a full refund under the EU rules on digital content (Directive (EU) 2019/770). We also refund where the law otherwise requires, for example for a duplicate charge.
You can also give us a one-time donation of any amount between €1 and €1000, with or without an account. A donation is a voluntary gift that we use for our own development. It does not buy Supporter status or any other service, and it does not remove ads. Because nothing is sold, a donation cannot be withdrawn. If you were charged by mistake, for example twice, tell us and we will refund it. [PLACEHOLDER: check with an accountant how donations to the company are taxed in your country.]
“For as long as the service runs” is the honest version of “forever”. If we ever decide to close ChaosInOurMind, we will tell Supporters by email and on the site at least 60 days in advance. Beyond what the law requires, we do not owe a refund when the service closes after that notice. If we were to stop the service unusually soon after your purchase, your statutory rights still apply.
The site does not show ads from an ad network yet. We plan to add them to pay for the games. When we do, we will update these terms and the cookie policy, and personalised ads will only run with your consent. We are not responsible for the products or websites that advertisers promote.
If you submit a game to ChaosInOurMind, the developer agreement applies in addition to these terms. It covers rights, content rules, revenue share and payouts. In short: you keep all rights to your game and give us a licence to host and show it.
The site, its design, our games, art, music, code, logo and the name ChaosInOurMind belong to us or to the developers who made them. You may play the games and share links to them. You may make screenshots, videos and streams of our own games, including monetised ones, as long as you do not claim the games as your own. For games by other developers, their own rules apply. Everything else needs our written permission.
The games are free and provided as they are. We do our best, but we cannot guarantee that every game is free of bugs or that the site is always available.
We are fully liable, under the applicable law, for:
For slight negligence, we are only liable if we breach an essential obligation of these terms, meaning one that makes the service possible at all and on which you can normally rely, and then only for typical, foreseeable damage. Otherwise, we are not liable for indirect damage, such as lost profits or lost game progress in free games. Keep in mind that games in development can lose saves (see section 5).
You can stop using the service and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or close an account if someone seriously or repeatedly breaks these terms, for example through cheating, fraud, abuse or attacks on the site. Where reasonable, we will warn you first and tell you why. If we close your account without a good reason, or because we close the service, any Supporter rights are handled as described in section 6. If we close it because you seriously broke these terms, you are not entitled to a refund of Supporter status, unless the law says otherwise.
We may update these terms when the service or the law changes. We will tell account holders about important changes by email or on the site at least 30 days before they apply. If you do not agree, you can delete your account before the change takes effect. Changes will not reduce what you have already paid for as a Supporter.
These terms are governed by the law of [COUNTRY]. If you are a consumer living in another EU country, you also keep the protection of the mandatory consumer laws of your country, and you can bring a claim in the courts where you live.
If something goes wrong, please contact us first at hello@chaosinourmind.com. We usually find a solution quickly. If not, you can contact your local consumer protection authority or an alternative dispute resolution body. [PLACEHOLDER: name the competent ADR body / conciliation board and state whether we participate.] The EU online dispute resolution (ODR) platform was discontinued in July 2025, so it is no longer available.
If one part of these terms turns out to be invalid, the rest still applies. If we do not enforce a rule right away, we can still enforce it later. These terms are available in English. [PLACEHOLDER: confirm whether translations are required in target markets.]
